Australia v New Zealand Bledisloe Cup 2020
The Bledisloe Cup is the greatest rivalry in rugby. There’s no other competition like it. The Qantas Wallabies need to bring the cup home.
Every year the Wallabies and the All Blacks do battle in a three-match series. Two of these matches also count towards the annual Rugby Championship. The format of the Bledisloe Cup has been altered over the years, from being a one-off match to a three or sometimes four-game
New Zealand have so far been the dominant force, winning the cup for the 47th time in 2018, miles ahead of Australia’s 12 successful years. There’s always time to catch up, as The Bledisloe Cup remains a prominent fixture in rugby union, not just in Australia and New Zealand, but around the world.
Brisbane and Melbourne will host Australia’s Bledisloe matches in 2020 with Rugby Australia confirming two Queensland games for next season.
Australia will host two of the three Bledisloes in 2020 and with Sydney out of play with ANZ Stadium’s refurbishment, both will be out of NSW.
Rugby Australia confirmed on Sunday morning that Brisbane would host the third, while it has already been reported that Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium will be the venue for the series opener.
